What would any summer vacation in Vegas be without the now famous pool party scene. In the peak of summer, when the mercury often reaches a whopping 100 degrees, there is no better way to cool off than spending the day drinking, partying and lounging around one of the many hotel pools.
Which Vegas pool party is the best you ask? Well this topic is up for constant debate, but we've narrowed it down to just two.
Wet Republic - MGM Grand Hotel & Casino
Dubbed the 'Ultra Pool Party' in Las Vegas, Wet Republic is definitely a front runner for the award.
The venue itself features two outdoor saltwater pools, totalling more than 6,000 square feet, with a bar area serving frozen drinks and exotic cocktails running parallel to the main pool. The main pool contains over a dozen water lounges dotted around the shallow end, yours to use so long as you beat the crowds. If the water lounges are full up, there are more than 80 public chaise lounges laid out upon the deck where you can relax, soak up the sun, soak up the alcohol and soak up the atmosphere. For those of you with cash to burn, private poolside bungalows are available, equipped with fridges, flat-screen TVs & Xbox 360's.
Wet Republic also hosts a number of performing artists, from hip-hop icons to Internationally renowned DJ's, spinning the tables for pool party guests. A celebrity hot-spot, Wet Republic is definitely THE place to see and be seen in Vegas.
TAO Beach - The Venetian Resort, Hotel & Casino
Secluded, Exclusive, Exotic...This pretty much sums up the pool party at The Venetian.
As you enter this lush oasis, the electrifying buzz around the pool hits you immediately, with live DJs spinning anything from hip-hop, to RnB, to the latest dance tracks right there in the centre of the club, whilst girls wearing high heels and designer sunglasses roam the pools edge, on the prowl for "Mr Big".
Although you're actually in the middle of the Nevada desert, you'll feel as though you're relaxing on a secluded pacific island, inspired by TAO's somewhat tropical theme. When you see the 40ft tall bamboo trees surrounding the pool, you'll know what we're talking about.
Scattered among the trees are 12 poolside cabanas - air conditioned, with flat screen TVs, gaming consoles, WiFi internet & a mini bar - but they come at a price.
Without a doubt, TAO Beach is one of the premier pool parties in Las Vegas, attracting its fair share of A-List celebrities - and one or two B-graders as well.
